Honoring Our Country and Our Highway Heroes

As we come upon our Nations 248th birthday, we look at all the good work our industry provides to the building of it. From horse and cart delivering goods 248 years ago to the self-driving tractor trailers of today!

We all see carriers on our roads that make us nervous and those are the ones that provide the cheap rate, don’t maintain their equipment and are here today, gone tomorrow.

Then there are the vast majority of the good ones. The Professional Truck Drivers who day in and day out drive the truck that you, nor I, could safely do on a daily basis. The ones who worked through the Pandemic to make sure hospitals got medicines and life saving machines, the ones who delivered food to the grocery stores and retail outlets. The ones who delivered supplies to the warfighters and the ones that volunteer their time to deliver donations to countless charities across the country and during times of tragedy.

These are the drivers you never hear about on the ambulance chaser TV ads vilifying our industry. I never seem to hear, yes, the vast majority of truck drivers and trucking companies are safe, reliable professionals who are a fabric of America representing every creed, color and religion.

So, the next time you see a Professional Truck driver, tip your cap or a nod of appreciation, trust me, they will appreciate it. They are your brothers and sisters of the highway.

As far as the trucks out there being held together by duct tape and bungee cords, their days are numbered with our outstanding law enforcement officers doing their hard work to get them off the streets and make us all safer for doing so.

We are the greatest company on the face of the Earth and each of us feels lucky to be in this industry.

Have a great 4th everyone!
